Jennifer Bond, PhD provides project development support to Duke’s translational efforts to advance research. Dr. Bond works with teams from project inception to clinical development in inflammation, musculoskeletal, dermatology, and device development. She interprets technical and commercial information to deliver value-added input to inform research strategy. Dr. Bond works closely with the departments of orthopedics and engineering.
Dr. Bond obtained her doctorate in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College, London, and completed post-doctoral studies in wound repair and regeneration. She has worked in industry (CRO and CMO) and academia and has a unique background that encompasses cell biology, engineering, and preclinical and clinical research. Prior to joining DTRI, Dr. Bond worked as Sr. Research Associate in Duke's Department of Surgery, where she conducted preclinical and clinical research and coordinated research for the division of plastic surgery. Dr. Bond’s expertise includes interdisciplinary and collaborative research in cell biology, engineering, biologics and preclinical models.
